Abstract
The growth kinetics of 1D ZnO rods in an aqueous solution containing zinc acetate and hexamethylenetetramine (HMTA) has been investigated. The X-ray diffraction pattern indicated hexagonal wurtzite structures for the sample. The factors influencing the growth kinetics of ZnO rods, including the reactant concentration and the reaction temperature, are investigated. The results reveal that the crystals volume increases linearly with the reactant concentration and temperature during coarsening in this system, in agreement with the Lifshitz-Slyozov-Wagner (LSW) model for coarsening in the later stage of the growth.
