Abstract
A combined electrochemical technique was developed to prepare iron layers with nano-sized grains and subsequently Fe/Fe-oxide multilayers. Cyclic voltammetric and chrono-amperometric measurements were used to investigate the formation process of iron oxide quasi-isolating nano-layer. Based on these measurements the experimental parameters have been established to prepare iron layers by pulse plating and to insulate it by potentiostatic anodic oxidation in the same electrolyte. The inductive elements based on these magnetic metal/metal-oxide multilayers are promising materials for high frequency applications.
