Abstract
												- TiO2 coatings were deposited on stainless steel using sol-gel and PECVD methods.
- Mechanical, photocatalytic and biological properties of the coatings were compared.
- Substrate plasma activation does not improve an adherence of the sol-gel films.
- Photowetting properties and bacterial biofilm formation are similar for both types of coatings.
- PECVD films show better mechanical properties and stronger UV bactericidal effect.
