Abstract
This paper presents various thermo-electric studies on ferroelectric lithium ammonium sulphate (LAS) binary systems. LAS crystals were grown and characterized with powder X-ray diffraction technique. Different studies like dilotometry, electrostriction and phase transition temperatures were investigated. Dilotometry and dielectric studies confirmed the phase temperatures obtained from differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). It was interesting to note that the ferroelectric region was unaltered in all the binaries. Odd proportions of the binaries were more pronounced than their even counter parts as regards to the electrical and thermal properties.
