Abstract
⺠Fine and ultrafine β grains were attained in metastable Ti-16V-3Al-3Sn alloy. ⺠All tensile curves showed double yielding and low triggering stress (ÏT). ⺠The ÏT decreased, and then increased with increasing grain size from 1.3 to 30 μm. ⺠The three-stage strain hardening and high strain hardening rate were investigated. ⺠Tensile samples were fractured ductily and dimple size was proportional to grain size.
