Abstract
The development of surface topography with deformation reflects a range of plasticity phenomena occurring over different length scales. Surface displacement at grain boundaries occurs under bending, the displacement increasing with bending angle. This contributes to surface topography and is due to plastic deformation adjacent to the grain boundary.
