Abstract
Zirconium films were prepared by magnetron sputtering on steel, glass and silicon substrates. The effects of the substrate, inter-layer and compressive stress in the films on the formation of Ï-phase are presented. Steel substrate promotes the growth of biphased films whereas a chromium inter-layer promotes the growth of single Ï-phase.
