Abstract
The crystallization behavior of rapidly quenched Al88Y7Fe5 glasses subjected to plastic deformation at room temperature and thermal treatments is comparatively analyzed. Both induce nanocrystallization. Severe plastic deformation strongly enhances the development of nanocrystals and thus presents a new synthesis route for bulk nanostructured materials.
