Abstract
We report the first application of a five-parameter determination of grain boundary types to grain boundary engineered alpha-brass. The most important findings were that the distribution of planes showed a prevalence of ã1Â 1Â 0ã tilt boundaries, especially asymmetric tilt types, and the presence of ã1Â 1Â 1ã twist boundaries. This distribution resulted from the low energy of these boundary types.
