Abstract
Texture evolution in an aluminium alloy with 4.7 wt.% Mg shows a more or less homogeneous β-fiber development from cube texture in the hot band. After a deformation level of 70%, the intensity of S and Bs component increases by two fold whereas the Cu component remains at the same level. There was fragmentation of the dispersoids present in the hot band during cold rolling. The textural development was correlated with the microstructural development in the material.
