Abstract
The strain rate sensitivity of commercial purity aluminium (Al 99.5) with conventional and ultrafine (UFG) grain size is investigated by compression tests at different temperatures. The tests were accomplished by microstructural investigations before and after compression testing. Pronounced strain rate sensitivity was found for UFG Al especially at elevated temperatures.
