Abstract
Al-7.1wt.%Si alloys were rheocast under different stirring speeds and solid fractions. The size and the circularity of the primary features of the rheocast specimens were measured and compared. The experimental results were explained using a new proposed mechanism for the formation and evolution of the rheocast microstructures.
