Abstract
Monte Carlo simulations are applied to investigate the effects of size and surface segregation on L10 ordering in FePt nanoparticles. A decrease in the equilibrium ordering temperature is observed with decreasing particle size, an effect that is enhanced by the presence of strong surface segregation in stoichiometric nanoparticles.
