Abstract
A self-consistent model based on creation and annihilation of free volume during steady flow is presented. The model successfully simulates the experimental shear-rate dependent viscosity of undercooled Zr41.25Ti13.75Cu12.5Ni10Be22.5 liquid. The model solution is well approximated by an analytic function, which appears identical to the Johnson-Segalman formulation for viscoelastic fluids.
