Abstract
A 17Ni-0.2C martensite steel was rapidly heated below the austenite formation temperature and deformed in compression. Continuous dynamic recrystallization was observed. The behavior is similar to that in a ferrite-pearlite steel but the onset strain is much smaller. Sub-micron ferrite grains were obtained through the dynamic recrystallization.
