Abstract
Carbon nanotubes (CNT) have a Young's modulus of 1Â TPa, making them ideal reinforcements for composite materials. It is important to understand the relevant strengthening mechanisms involved in CNT/Al composites, in order to produce optimized composites. Three major mechanisms are analyzed along with experimental procedure for making CNT/Al composites.
