Abstract
High-strength Al has been produced by attrition milling in ammonia gas atmosphere and powder consolidation by cold pressing and sintering. Consolidated compacts reach full densification, have an almost nanocrystalline grain (size 200Â nm), and abundant nanocrystalline dispersoids. The bulk material has a high tensile strength (515Â MPa) and its high-temperature behaviour is outstanding.
