Abstract
An enthalpy-based method coupled with microstructural characterisation has been used to identify the solidification path and to calculate local solidification kinetics for two chemistries corresponding to IN713LC. Enhanced micro-segregation accompanying carbide precipitation during last stage solidification was associated with a retarded rate of solid evolution.
