Abstract
Fibrous Al2O3/ZrO2 composites were newly fabricated using an extrusion process, and the relationship between the microstructure and mechanical properties was investigated. The density, hardness, bending strength and fracture toughness increased as the number of extrusion passes increased, and the highest values attained were 98.5%, 12 GPa, 564 MPa and 6.3 MPa m1/2, respectively.
