Abstract
Microstructure characteristics after heat treatments and microstructural stability involving thermal stability and mechanical stability during creep deformation are investigated in a Ti-47Al-2Nb-2Mn + 0.8 vol.%TiB2 alloy. In addition to good thermal stability, good mechanical stability is found to be another important factor to improve the creep resistance of the fine-grained fully lamellar structure (FGFL) in terms of short and long-term creep.
