Abstract
This study shows that the alternating magnetic field promotes the growth of the intermediate phases in Al-Zn and Al-Mg diffusion couples. The growth of the intermediate phases obeys the parabolic rate law and the growth rate of the intermediate phases is increased with the application of the alternating magnetic field. And the growth rate change is manifested through a change in the pre-exponential frequency factor k0 but not through a change in the activation energy Q.
