Abstract
⺠We have developed a new variable quench pressure relief valve for a superconducting magnet system. ⺠The valve has simple structure and can be maintenance-free for long-term operation under high radiation environment. ⺠The relief pressure of the valve can be freely set to any value ranging from 150 to 1900 kPa. ⺠The valve has heat load of less than 1.5 W at 4.2 K and a seat leakage rate of 4.5 à 10-7 kg/sec at 4.2 K is confirmed.
