Abstract
SrBi4Ti4O15(SBTi) powders were synthesized by auto-combustion of citrate-nitrate gel. Attempts have been made to understand the synthesis process with the help of thermogravimetric (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) of the sample. The XRD and SEM studies on these powders confirmed that the method produces powder had greater composition uniformity, and possesses a reasonably fine particle size. The SBTi ceramics sintered at 1060 °C for 1 h exhibited a relative density of 90%, the sintering temperature was lower 100 °C than solid-state reaction. The ferroelectric and dielectric properties of SBTi were investigated, it was found that piezoelectric coefficient is 20 pC/N.
