Abstract
âºThe mechanisms of formation of long-period gratings written in a pure-silica-core fibre by using arc discharges were investigated. âºComputer simulations show that gratings formation can be due to microdeformations. âºThe near-field intensity distribution confirms the asymmetry of the perturbation.
