Abstract
► Possibility of simultaneous lensing and waveguiding in BEC is shown. ► Splitting of ultraslow pulse via BEC into spatially and temporally distinct lensed and guided components is shown. ► Tunable fractions of ultraslow lensed and guided EIT pulses in BEC are shown. ► Tunable focal length of BEC is calculated as a function of atom-atom interaction, BEC and trap parameters. ► Quadratic graded index model of BEC waveguiding and lensing properties are constructed.
