Abstract
⺠The CO2 laser-based lidar ATLAS was used to scan the plume of Stromboli volcano. ⺠Water vapor concentration, wind speed and water vapor flux were measured. ⺠The lidar measurement of flux was in agreement with conventional techniques. ⺠It is the first time that a lidar measures the water vapor flux in a volcanic plume.
