Abstract
⺠We investigated the magneto-phonon polaritons of the two-dimension magnetic photonic crystal (MPC). ⺠This MPC is constructed by embedding a periodical square lattice of ionic-crystal cylinders into an antiferromagnet. ⺠We find some new surface modes and two mini bulk bands, which possess distinctive features. ⺠In the two mini bands, an electromagnetic wave propagating in the x-y plane experiences a negative refraction index. ⺠The MPC is of left-handedness.
