Abstract
⺠Optical properties of metal-semiconductor 1D photonic crystals are investigated. ⺠Calculated optical spectra exhibit resonances due to coupling of size-quantized excitons with light. ⺠For p-polarized light, both transverse and longitudinal polarization waves are excited. ⺠The position of resonances in the photonic dispersion can be controlled with the metal filling fraction. ⺠The lowest-frequency gap for TE modes increases with the incidence angle.
