Abstract
The high-pressure X-ray powder diffraction studies were carried out on nano-phase Arivillius oxides Bi2VO5 and Bi2VO5.5. These oxides are synthesized using the mechanochemical activation method. The oxides prepared by this method are amorphous in nature. High-pressure X-ray powder diffraction was carried out using Mao-Bell-type diamond anvil cell up to 15Â GPa. At pressures 5.2 and 7Â GPa, the amorphous nanooxides transform into crystals.
