Abstract
⺠Mechanical stresses occur in sealed, gas-filled solar collectors. ⺠Short glass to absorber distances, long tubes and large areas give low stresses. ⺠There are no strict rules regarding selection of material, thicknesses, etc. ⺠Beware: strengthening of one part can weaken the construction.
