Abstract
⺠Time tempering dependent microstructure of two steels is studied by internal friction. ⺠Internal friction indicates the interactions of dislocations with carbon and carbides. ⺠Internal friction detects the first stage of tempering. ⺠Precipitation hardening is detected by the decrease in the background.
