Enhanced ductility in an Al-Mg2Si in situ composite processed by ECAP using a modified BC route

► A modified BC route, noted as BC-m, was designed. ► ECAP experiments were performed on an Al-Mg2Si composite in routes BC and BC-m, respectively. ► Route BC-m significantly improves the uniformity of particle distributions compared to Route BC. ► Route BC-m is more effective in enhancing the ductility and the tensile strength of the composite.
