Abstract
ⶠThe as-cast Mg-4Al-2Sn alloy consisted of α-Mg, Mg17Al12 and Mg2Sn phases. The addition of Ca and Sr resulted in the formation of CaMgSn and SrMgSn ternary phases within the grain interior. ⶠWith the addition of Ca and Sr, the creep resistance was increased by distributing thermally stable phases in the Mg matrix and the corrosion properties were improved by ennobling the Ecorr value of the Mg matrix.
