Abstract
ⶠA new Mg-7.8%Li-4.6% Zn-0.96% Ce-0.85% Y-0.30% Zr alloy has been developed. ⶠα-Mg, β-Li and RE-containing intermetallics formed in the extruded alloy. ⶠThree DRX domains and a flow instability regime are observed on the processing map. ⶠThe optimum parameters for hot working are 250 ÌC/10 sâ1 and 250 ÌC/0.001 sâ1. ⶠHot deformation mechanism of the alloy was studied.
