Abstract
ⶠThe accumulated strain in AFSE, a new extrusion process, is the result of circumferential velocity gradient along extrusion axis. ⶠThe effective strain depends on the radius and helix angle only while independent of the chamfer geometry. ⶠEmbedded wires were used to verify the validity of the derived velocity field during AFSE. ⶠThe velocity field and the observations conform well and the proposed kinematics is a reliable model for AFSE.
