Influence of laser deposition patterns on part distortion, interior quality and mechanical properties by laser solid forming (LSF)

▶ Fractal deposition pattern is introduced into LSF for decreasing part distortion. ▶ Fractal and offsetout generate the smallest and second smallest part deformations. ▶ Transient maximal temperature gradient has a critical effect on part distortion. ▶ The part interior quality can be improved with 50% overlap for fractal and offsetout. ▶ And parts' tensile and yield strength are superior to those of casting or forging.
