Abstract
â¶ Functionalized MWCNTs by oxidation increased flexural stiffness up to 55% over neat system. â¶ Storage modulus showed significant improvement for nanocomposites with functionalized MWCNTs. â¶ There was improvement in the dispersion and chemical interaction of MWCNTs in the matrix. â¶ Covalent functionalization of MWCNT is beneficial for use in epoxy systems. â¶ Chemical functionalization by fluorination produces HF which degrades flexural properties.
