Abstract
ⶠθⲠparticles in Al-Cu binary alloy was found to dissolve more rapidly than θ particles. ⶠThe different dissolution behavior of the θⲠand θ phase was thermodynamically analysed. ⶠThe critical radius and free energy barrier for the strain-induced dissolution were calculated.
