Abstract
â¶ Mg-12Gd-3Y-0.5Zr (GW123k) alloy contains a large amount of precipitated particles and possesses a relatively weak texture. â¶ GW123k alloy has much relieved tension-compression yield asymmetry and enhanced fatigue failure resistance compared to conventional wrought Mg alloys. â¶ The suppression of deformation twins and the activation of basal slips in GW123k alloy alleviate the severe strain localization during cyclic loading and benefit the material's fatigue performance.
