Abstract
ⶠNeutron diffraction and the contour method show good agreement. ⶠTensile stresses found parallel to the surfaces. ⶠCompressive stresses within the bulk of the structures. ⶠResidual stress weakly dependent on the laser pulse parameters. ⶠMaximum tensile residual stress unaffected across range of pulse parameters used.
