Abstract
▶ The effect of samarium contents on shape memory behavior has been studied. ▶ Addition of samarium increases the strength, c/a ratio and ɛ (hcp martensite). ▶ Addition of samarium retards the nucleation of ά (bcc martensite). ▶ Improvement in shape memory effect with the increase in samarium contents.
