Abstract
▶ ECAE of two CP Ti grades refined the as-received coarse-grained microstructures. ▶ No major difference in UFG grain sizes despite 150 °C difference in ECAE temperatures. ▶ Significant improvement in the strength levels of the two grades CP Ti. ▶ Higher strain hardening in the UFG grade-4 Ti is due to higher impurity content. ▶ The impurity content dictates the minimum processing temperature possible.
