Abstract
▶ In Ni-Cr-W based superalloy, M6C carbides decompose into M23C6 carbides in the temperature range of 650 to 1000 °C due to its high content of Cr. ▶ At temperatures below 900 °C, coarse lamellar M23C6 carbides precipitate at the grain boundaries. While the temperature is above 1000 °C, discrete M23C6 carbides precipitate at the grain boundaries. ▶ The M23C6 carbide has a cube-cube orientation relationship with the matrix: (100)M23C6//(100)matrix and [100]M23C6//[100]matrix.
