Abstract
▶ Acoustic emission (AE) from deformed Mg-based composites. ▶ Two AE peaks have been found through each test. ▶ First AE peak is ascribed to twinning and collective dislocation motion. ▶ Second AE peak is due to fibre failure and debonding at the interfaces. ▶ AE and composite properties are influenced by the load transfer to the fibres.
