Abstract
ⶠMC-HPDC process shows excellent potential for the recycling of scrap Mg alloys. ⶠIntensive shearing alters the size and morphology of MgO clusters and oxide skins. ⶠIntensive shearing leads to the formation of fine and spherical grain structures. ⶠIntensive shearing eliminates dendritic microstructures. ⶠMC-HPDC Mg scrap properties compare very well to primary Mg alloy properties.
