Abstract
▶ A constitutive description of low C-Mn steel under hot-working conditions has been developed. ▶ Tests were conducted between 850 °C and 1150 °C, at strain rates of 0.25-25 s−1. ▶ The description is based on a simplified form of the Mechanical Threshold Stress Model. ▶ The formulation only considers the interaction of dislocations with thermal barriers. ▶ Work-softening and work-hardening transients can be easily predicted during deformation.
