▶ Shot peening causes surface densification of a martensitic porous sintered steel. ▶ Shot peening improves the fatigue resistance of a martensitic sintered steel by 30%. ▶ Shot peening does not impair dimensional and geometrical characteristics. ▶ Surface densification dissipates shot peening energy and reduces residual stresses.
