Abstract
ⶠFriction stir butt welding was applied to high nitrogen-containing stainless steel. ⶠNi free austenitic stainless steel containing 1 mass% nitrogen plates were used. ⶠTo determine the optimum welding conditions, some welding conditions were applied. ⶠThe effect of the heat input on the mechanical properties of the joints was studied. ⶠThe relationship of the welding temperature and the microstructure was investigated.
