Abstract
⺠Atomic force microscopy of dragon fly hind wing (Sympetrum vulgatum) shows irregular shaped nanostructure with size varying from 83.25 ± 1.79 nm to 195.08 ± 10.25 nm. ⺠The size of the nanostructure differed from the tip (pterostigma) to the costa part of wing attached to the abdomen. ⺠The arrangement of the nanostructure resembled ripple wave morphology. ⺠Distribution and arrangement of nanostructure within the wing varies, hence its influence in flight mechanism should not be neglected during designing/modeling of wings.
