Abstract
We present new results on the pressure dependence of the electronic band gap of molecular C60 measured by photoluminescence spectroscopy up to 10 GPa at room temperature. In agreement with previous results, the energy gap decreases with increasing pressure up to about 6 GPa. For higher pressures, however, we observe an energy gap that is wider than that at 6 GPa.
