Abstract
We present new results on the pressure dependence of the electronic band gap of molecular C60 measured by photoluminescence spectroscopy up to 10Â GPa at room temperature. In agreement with previous results, the energy gap decreases with increasing pressure up to about 6Â GPa. For higher pressures, however, we observe an energy gap that is wider than that at 6Â GPa.
